After spending almost 30 years in this piece of treasure, Harrison Ford wanted a change of scenery – so he has put the mansion in Brentwood, CA on the market – for a hefty price of $8.295 million!
If the 69 year old actor gets the full asking price for the property, he will make a neat $1 MILLION profit – Indiana Jones will be impressed by this move! Ford currently resides in the cosy family home with his current wife, Ally McBeal star, Calista Flockhart and their nine year old son, Liam.
At the time of buying the seven bedroom estate back in 1983, Ford – who was one of the biggest Hollywood stars at the time – was married to his second wife, Melissa Mathison. The couple divorced in 2004.
So what does this surplus size property has to offer? As well as boasting seven generous-sized bedrooms (which commands breathtaking views of the city and the ocean), the super luxurious mansion features a regal dining area along with country kitchen, a cosy living area, a family room, eight bathrooms and even a library! The outside is just as beautiful – the grand home possess a picturesque garden.
The gated New England traditional estate has so much more for offer: there’s a poolside guesthouse, plus TWO separate guest suites. The dream home is set back from the street, giving any A-list celebrity the much-craved privacy.
Harrison must have been an ace handy man over the years, as there is a purpose-built detached work shop on the property. The workshop probably makes a good ME-TIME place for the old chap!
Will Harrison miss this hidden jewel? I’m sure he will –but with that fat profit coming his way, I’m sure he has his sights on another superfly mansion!
Unlike her character Carrie Bradshaw (who would never be caught alive living in Brooklyn), Sarah Jessica Parker is venturing into the area, purchasing two adjacent townhouses with husband Matthew Broderick. The plan is to covert the two properties into one spacious family nest – which will become a 7,000 plus ft square feet urban mansion! Can you imagine the rooms and the garden?!? Well, the outdoor space will come in handy for their nine-year-old son James Wilkie and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, who turns three in the summer.
Inside sources confirm that the golden couple are finalising the contract on the two stunning houses, situated in the highly desirable neighbourhood of South Brooklyn Heights. However this is no ordinary family-orientated neighbourhood. Other celebrities, including Norah Jones and actor Gabriel Byrne live in the peaceful and angelic area.
Now that the sale of the properties is coming to an end, I bet that the Sex in the City star and hubby can’t wait to move out of their current family home in West Village! Besides being big Hollywood actors, the couple are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to property investment. They are in the process of selling another property on E ast 10th Street which they brought two years ago for $1.8995 million. According to celeb gossips sources, the family never move into the house.
Meanwhile the property where Carrie lived in the first three season of the show is now on the market for $9.65 million. The four-storey townhouse, on Perry Street (pictured above), features ten bedrooms and six fireplaces. Good news for die hard Sex in the City fans with a massive bank balance!
One of the world’s leading rappers has secured a deal to buy a stunning Miami mansion that has been his home since 2010. Lil Wayne has recently negotiated a deal to buy his Miami Beach waterfront home for $11.6 million, having leased the property for two years.
The stunning property is set in a private location once favoured by Cher and is set to be the Grammy award winning artists’ home for years to come as he plans to spend more time with his children. Keep reading to learn more about Lil Wayne’s spectacular home.
The 15,101 square foot, three storey property boasts large expanses of glass, steel and select marble. The Huffington Post reports that ‘the two-story master suite is accessed by a glass and steel elevator and the property includes a three-bedroom guesthouse.’
The property sits on about 120 feet of waterfront on La Gorce Island, a private gated community in Miami Beach. It is a favourite location for reclusive celebrities, with Cher having called the place home in the past.
The Grammy-winning rapper, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, admitted in an interview last spring that he intends to retire at 35 to spend more time with his four children. The star will turn 30 in September and his ninth studio album, Tha Carter VI, was released last summer.
Celebrity real estate agent Katrina Campins who has represented Lil Wayne on several of his past real estate transactions, described him as ‘one of the most brilliant, talented and influential artists of our time.’ She added, “He is among the best in the business. We are grateful to have Lil Wayne in Miami.”
This house was featured in the 1990 film, starring a certain mischievous kid who outsmarts two dumbest burglars on earth. Have you guessed it yet? It’s Home Alone.
Now this 1920 luxurious perfect family home has a leading role: It’s now on the market for $2.4 million. Located in Winnetka on the Chicago North Shore, the 4,250 square foot home is clean cut on the inside, as it is on the outside. The three storey property features four master en-suite, a light-coloured (not to mention stunning) spacious dining area, a bang up to date kitchen and a cosy lounging area. Who can forget the attic room, where Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) had to share a bed with his bed-wetting cousin?
The cosy estate also features a wood burning fireplace, a sunroom, an outdoor greenhouse, a detached garage and its only moments away from Lake Michigan.
The owners, John and Cynthia Abendshien, bought the knock out property for $875,000 in 1998. Two years later, they were approached by the director of Home Alone films, Christopher Columbus about featuring the house in the classic comedy, which also starred Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the bumbling thieves.
This is not the first time the red-brick property caught the attention of film directors: A scout for director John Hughes (Hughes wrote and produced Home Alone) approached the owners about featuring the home in the 1989 film, Uncle Buck. The offer was declined, as the couple just moved in and have not sold their old house.
Now the Abendshiens are ready to move on and downside, as their daughter (who became Macaulay’s playmate during the filming) is now all grown up. In fact the whole family was acquainted with the child star, giving him the nickname “Mac” and describing him as ‘a nice, but quiet boy.’
Now, we all know that Macaulay DID NOT grow up to be ‘a nice, but quiet’ guy!
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has snapped up a monster-size mansion in South Florida from American football player Vernon Carey. Well a big guy needs a big home!
Last year, sources have learnt that the WWF legend and Hollywood actor sold off multiple properties in the South Florida area. Now, I think, he found ‘the prefect one’ – look at the pictures and you’ll see why.
Located in the rural South-west Ranches, the 13,353 square foot estate features five Buckingham palace-style bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a pool (which can be easily mistaken for a river) and a top of the class home theatre (with a ticket tooth) catering up to 14 people. Well at least Dwayne can enjoy watching his hit movies which includes, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Tooth Fairy and Family Guy. If he wants to make extra money on the side, at least Dwayne has the option of charging his pals to watch his blockbusters!
Built in 2009, the mansion also boasts a state of the art gym, an ultra regal study and an impressive walk-in closet. There’s a garage, which fits up to three cars, a circular driveway with a stunning fountain and, of course, the grand entrance leading to the luxurious mansion.
He’ll be in good company as his neighbours are respected American football players – well, it comes to no surprise as the previous owner of the mansion was one! You can only imagine the wild pool parties these boys are going to have!
According to sources Carey, who was the first ever resident to move into the property, bought the mansion for $3.7 million back in 2009. Sources also reveal that the sportsman barely spent time in the house – how is that possible?! Well, let’s hope The Rock will make better use of this dream abode!

In less than two months, Drake sold his mansion for $2.4 million. The Canadian rapper put the four bedroom property on the market just after the New Year. It may have been the one of the quickest property sale in history, but it came at the big price for poor Drake – $100,000 to be exact- as it was listed for $2.5 million.
So who was the buyer who got the cracking deal? Mario Chalmers. Just in case you’re wondering, Mario Chalmers is a NBA basketball player for Miami Heat – so he’s not short of a bob or two!
Located in the plush Marquis Residences building in downtown Miami, the lavish apartment features 3.5 bathrooms, glass walls and marble staircases. The 5,745 square feet estate also has two fitted kitchen with Viking Appliances, six marble bathrooms and a very impressive media room.
The tower, where this super luxurious mansion is situated, is renowned for its second to none services. It offers an indoor spa, fitness centre, an open air sky pool and valet parking. To top it off, there’s a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. With such extensive amenities, there’s no reason to venture outside.
During his residence at this gorgeous apartment, Drake was all too proud to show it off: the property was featured in DJ Khaled’s video, ‘I’m On One’, featuring the big man himself alongside rapper friends Lil’ Wayne and Rick Ross.
You can imagine Drake had an emotional farewell to this heaven. Maybe not, as he already got himself a rather swanky Californian mansion for $9 million – and it certainly lives up to the previous pad: the Los Angeles abode includes a tennis and volleyball court, a home theatre, catering for 24 people, a pool area which accompanies a wet bar and something that’s not very fitting to a hip-hop superstar – a horse barn. Oh well, maybe he’ll feature it in his next video!
Take a look at the picture above. It may look like an ordinary luxury property in quite a respectable neighbourhood, but recently it has made history, as it was the most expensive home ever to be sold in Brooklyn. It went for $12 MILLION! Despite a very successful sale, the realtors of the mansion were left a little disappointed (to put mildly), as they were hoping to get close to $18 MILLION!
So why did a plain-looking house sold for so much? The answer is Truman Capote. The prolific writer rented an apartment in the house for ten years (1955-1965). During that time, Capote penned his most notable work, Breakfast at Tiffany’s back in 1958. The book was adapted into an iconic film, starring the uber-stylish Audrey Hepburn. Who can forget that little black dress, the oversize glasses, and those beautiful pearls?
The 11 bedroom mansion may be rather plain on the outside, but the inside tells a completely different story. The interior adopts a classic country style, which is simply elegant and very pleasing to the eye.
Described as the best mansion in the Brooklyn neighbourhood ,Brooklyn Heights , the property best features are the 11 undeniably stylish fireplaces, a garage for four cars, a heavenly garden (which makes a really cool hang out joint). However the crème de la crème has got be the mesmerizing stairwell that seems to go on for miles.
The agent, who handled the sale of the house, simply described this luxurious property as ‘a country estate in the middle of New York’. I couldn’t have put it better myself!
It was a hard task selling this New York estate as it was listed in May 2010 for the value 18 million. As the property was on the market for nearly two years, it lost roughly a third of its value. The buyer must feel like celebrating and a good place to start is in that gorgeous garden!
Hold on, who is the mystery buyer? Will keep you posted……
Hitmaker (well, that’s debateable) Britney Spears practically gving away her luxurious mansion. This week, she relisted (for the umpteenth time) the property for $2.9 million. The 30 year old paid $6.7 million for the property back in 2007. Ouch – that’s a $3.7 MILLION loss – double ouch! According to celebrity gossip sources, the spectacular estate been has on and off the market several times, but never managed to attract a buyer. That might change now that the mansion has a bargain-bucket price tag!
Located in the gated Summit community of Los Angeles, the 7,453 Tuscan style pad, features all the things dream houses are made of: five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a rather swanky kitchen with updated Viking appliances, a private swimming pool and spa, a maid quarters and a master suite, with his and hers bath – and last but, by no means least, the grand outdoor space. Take a look at it! It can even take an angel’s breath away!
Still, Britney has her reasons for virtually giving her stunning abode away: maybe she wants to leave a particular infamous memory behind? During her residence in the mansion, she suffered a well-publicised breakdown in 2007. Who can forget that in a hurry?
On the other hand, maybe she’s not bothered about the loss of profit: it was recently revealed that the womaniser singer was offered a whopping $10 million deal to be a judge on American X-Factor. Yes you read it right: the so-called pop princess has been in talks with the executives of the talent show for some time. Britney is, reportedly, holding out for $16 million.
After a massive drop in the price of the mansion, Britney, this is not the time to be picky. Maybe you should consider taking the $10 million dollar deal!
